First of when, who died and made the US boss over the world? Who expects the US to "solve" global problems?

No one..but like I said, I am sure leaders in ALL nations see a bigger picture. If country A takes over country B, the what will happen to other countries in the long run? While we're on this subject , who died and made it law for the entire world that no drawings of muhammod are to be produced? Who died and made it a crime punsihable by death for ANYONE in a non-muslim country to produce such drawings?

Doesn't it annoy you that your money is going to "ungrateful" foreign countries?

Heck yes it does! Money, food, medicines..etc. It also goes to ungrateful Americans IN my country. There are many homeless here, many children who get free breakfast and lunch in school and those are the only meals they get period. No food on the weekends since school is not in session. Why do we waste so much money in Africa for example? Food and medicines for people who do nothing but have child after child, infected with AIDS just to have them die. Look at the farms in South Africa...once fertile, food producing farms with farmers generations old, originally from the UK. The Africans murdered them, took the land and what? Nothing..no foods are being grown there, either they don't have the skill or the simple desire to do something for themselves..just want to have a hand out waiting to recieve from other countries.

It does make me mad, and it makes me madder that this government and all these Christian busy bodies keep wasting time and money on the people there. But for some reason, that is what people do here..try to help those less fortunate even when they don't appreciate or deserve it. It annoys me that millions and millions of dollars goes to Pakistan for aide..for what purpose? To help feed and keep future terrorists that may come here to kill us healthy?? Not all Pakistanies mind you..I do not lump all people into one group because of where they are born/what they believe.

What do these wars actually do for US citizens?

I have wondered this exact question myself for years. My father, a retired Special Forces soldier says it's a power trip and 'good for the economy'..not for the average citizen mind you, but for the billionaires and the politicians who are in their pockets.

And please, I implore you (and others) - don't get pulled into the lie that your government sends your youth to die in foreign lands out of the kindess of its heart?

Again , being in a military town and being a bartender I know and talk with a lot of soldiers from all over my country. They are not stupid and I don't think a single one thinks all this is done out of the kindness of our governments heart. It is still pretty fresh in the minds of many Americans here in my town at least the loss of lives on Sep 11. All one ever hears is Twin Towers this and Twin Towers that..but soldiers died in the Pentagon that day as well. Soldiers are indespensible unfortunately but that is how many view them. And like the cause or not, they are soldiers, and soldiers go where they are told to go.

No matter what we do or don't do, we are the bad Americans. But would everyone rather have China help countries? Or perhaps Africa..then EVERYONE would know how to sit back and have your hand out for freebies. Maybe our soldiers should have left the middle east to it's own..was Hussein really doing that great of a job? And how about Bin Laden..now THERE'S a great leader..
I understand what you are saying, and in a perfect world all countries could take care of their own business without any help what so ever from bigger countries. But a perfect world will never exist so long as there are so many religions and so many people who get power hungry. Even fairy tales aren't that perfect.

can't the rest of us with half a brain at least try to fix the damage they're doing?

It would be wonderful if we could my friend, but I am afraid those of us who feel this way and are beyond the fed up point are not in the 'Fortune 500' groups. The ones with power and money , for whatever reason, want this..I wish I knew the method to their madness.
