Do you really want to do what the Mullahs want?

Basically, bombing Iran would be precisely what the Prez of Iran wants...He WANTS the West to bomb Iran -- he's doing everything possible to get the West to bomb Iran...If he can achieve this, then he will win support from his people -- the people will all rally around the religious fanatics...(right now, apparently, the religious fanatics are in trouble -- they're corrupt, they're enriching themselves, they're exploiters...) I think other alternatives should be looked at...bombing should be a last resort.

Perhaps one needs a basic survival guide when speaking with Islamists. You need to do the opposite of whatever is said or thought or "reasoned" about...You'll also notice that whenever someone speaks about "withdrawl from territories" -- this will be immediately interpreted by the Arab/Islamist mind as "expansion." Thus, "withdrawl" equals "land grab" -- this formula works not only for Arab speakers, but that despicable peanut farmer, Jimmy Carter, along with all the other Europeans and assorted antisemites -- white is black and black is white in their world. What becomes truly unseemly, though, is when you get someone like Wolf Blitzer shuckin' and jivin' with antisemite peanut growers...what a spectacle...

Back to the article by Pipes, I would also suggest that (from my perspective) Dr. Pipes is just too optimistic...Dr. Pipes suggests that there will be a wavering back and forth (i.e,. Republicans pro-Israel, Democrats anti-Israel)..and this will go back and forth depending on which party wins elections...Well, I'm not so sure...What happens after GW is out of office? Who's to say that the Republicans won't return to how they once were -- that is, anti-immigrant, anti-Jewish, etc?

I've also noticed (here in Canada, anyway) an intense hatred with regard to anything "religious" exists. It amounts to a virtual religio-phobia...but I find this extremism just as problematic as the cuckoo-Islamists...(note also that Alan Dershowitz gives a glowing endorsement to the religio-phobe Harris (re: "The End of Faith"). Soo, the extreme secularists are as much a threat as the religous nut cakes..
