If I may jump in here...

There's always this talk about "reforming Islam." Well, that would be really, really great -- IF TRUE! But, just as with the new Islamic Studies program here in Canada -- you can read their spiel -- their propaganda -- and realize -- AS they themselves allege -- they are forming this "academic" exercise with four objectives in mind. And what are these objectives?? Basically, it is to "spread the good word about Islam" -- that means proselytize. And to whom will they be preaching to?? Uninformed, naive university students, other religious organizations, the media -- all with the objective of improving government policies for Muslims; creating inter-faith "dialogue" (I suspect that would be something similar to what Palestine House does for the Anglicans -- that is give the Anglicans a freebie-tour of the Middle East and propagandize them so that when they return to Canada the Anglicans are outraged that Israelis would DARE defend themselves and then give their blessings to suicide murderers...) That is Islam -- and I consider it a threat.

Anything which contradicts their benighted views (i.e, Muslims are being persecuted; Muslims are the greatest single religious entity in the world to which all should eventually acknowledge and adhere to; Israelis are terrorists; Hezbollah is a charitible organization, etc., etc.) will NEVER be heard -- their ears are deaf!! And, all this so-called "studies program" will do is grant yet more legitimacy to Muslims and their pro-terrorist sympathies. (Ironically, we already have the CBC to preach on Muslims behalf -- there was one "journailist" who insisted that Hezbollah was doing "good works" -- I guess what he meant by the "good works" were murdering Israelis; that's when they weren't blowing up US Marines.)
