True Christians love Israel

Reader comment on item: Christian Hajjis to Jerusalem

Submitted by Roy Weinberg (United States), Jul 17, 2006 at 17:09

As we draw near to the return of Christ, many Christians are finally realizing that the foundation of Christianity is in Jerusalem, not Rome. Without Israel and the Jewish people, there would be no Christianity. It's important for Christians to realize that Jesus was Jewish--not Roman Catholic. I'm not a Catholic basher but I understand that the Roman Catholic Church claims to have replaced Israel as "the people of God." Not so. God's promises to the Jewish people and to Israel stand forever and true Christians understand this. That's why true Christians pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for God's protection of the Jews in an increasingly hostile and anti-Semitic world.
