Even the Quran endorses IsraelReader comment on item: New York Sun Columnist Weighs in on Creation of State of Israel Submitted by Nafata (United Kingdom), Jul 25, 2006 at 17:10 Even the Quran tacitly acknowledges that the right of Jews to the biblical Israel: "We (Allah) made a weak people (Israelites), inheritors of lands in both east and west - lands whereupon We sent down Our blessings. This fair promise of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because they had patience and constancy" - Quran 7:137 This verse was no doubt "revealed" when Islam's founder "prophet" Mohammed was seeking Jewish endorsement of his prophethood. When the Jews severally failed to pander to his megalomanic narcisstic whims, he changed the Qiblah (direction of prayer) from Jerusalem to Mecca, and turned on the Jews - variously attacking their settlements, massacring or exiling them. Mohammed then enjoined Muslims to kill Jews: "You Muslims must fight the Jews till some of them hide behind stones. The stones will betray them saying...There is a Jew hiding behind me; kill him" - Sahih Bukhari 4:5:176, 177 Granted, Muslims did not always follow this injunction...as the violent dictates of Islam did not always overwhelm the innate virtues of humanity. Nonetheless, Muslims will only tolerate Jewish presence in the Middle east - which they consider Darul Islam (Muslim land) - under Muslim Arab subjugation...not as an independent state. In accordance with the doctrinal Islamic intolerance, which is evident from Islamic scriptures and second class status of non-Muslims in Islamic countries, Muslims would never tolerate a non-Muslim state in the Middle east - Darul Islam (Islamic territory)....whether Buddhist, Christian or whatever. Hence the Palestinian conflict is a religious one...not territorial. Therefore anyone who believes that territorial concessions will bring peace to Israel is seriously mistaken. When Arabs attacked newly independent Israel in 1948, she did not occupy any "Palestinian" territory. On the contrary, it was the Arab (Egypt & Jordan) themselves who occupied West bank and Gaza...and there was no talk of Palestinian state.
