For Reema: al-tihara al-sunni, "my best friend is Christian" and other sordid matters!!Reader comment on item: Female Desire and Islamic Trauma Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Aug 7, 2006 at 19:54 Hi Reema: There is so much in your post and I'm afraid to tell you is it the same old apologetics that one hear these days from Muslims. But I give you high marks for trying to defend a religion that more likely than not brutalized your ancestors (you being of palestinian origin the chances are your ancestors were either Christian or Jewish that converted to the religion of the Arabs. Remember the mafia tax known as the jizya? The Arabs robbed your ancestors of their language which most likely was Syriac. And I'm sure you are aware of the central rule of the language in defining a culture. The Arabs robbed your people of their native culture. So much for the imperialism of the Arabs and for abul Qasim AKA Muhammad and his Islam. 1. You wrote that a kafir is: "You talk of Kuffar, well a kafir is a person who does not believe in the existence of God. As simple as that." I wish it was that simple. But I give you high marks because you are not repeating the nonsense that you hear from Pakistanis that know no Arabic when they (pakistanis that is) that a kaffir is one who covers the truth! What a joke. What you are describing above is the definition of who is a mulhid and a very different Arabic word. You claim to be an Arab and a journalist and you are seeking the truth, and in this case you did not. You could have checked in Ibn Manzur's Lisan al-3Arab (the dictionary of the Arabic language) and a kaffir is: A. A non-Muslim (included here would be Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, al-mulhideen etc...in other words the rest of humanity. B. And according to Ibn Taymiyya a kaffir can also be a Muslim under certain conditions. And if by God you mean Allah, I do not believe that Allah is a deity therefore I' m a very proud kaffir thank you. So you see my dear Reema it is not that simple as you claimed. 2. Zawaj al-Mut3a as well as the concept of al-fatawi (fatwa s) are nothing but a joke. Get over it. 3. Now we move on to female genital mutilation: I'm sure that you agree with me that your Allah's book AKA the Qur'an is silent about _both_ male and female genital mutilation. Now we have to turn to the discredited Hadith to sort out this problem. We will find the infamous ahadith in many variants where Muhammad had a chat with an Um Habibah "who was reputedly a circumciser of female slaves. Upon encountering her, Muhammad asked Um Habibah whether she continued to practice her profession. She said that she did, but that she would give it up if the Prophet disapproved." Far from objecting he not only told her it was allowed, he also demonstrated the correct way to do the operation (Abul Qasim the circumciser!). "come closer so I can teach you". In another version Muhammad is quoted as saying: "If you cut do not overdo it, because it brings more radiance to the face and is more pleasant for the husband." Last Muhammad is also quoted as saying that female circumcision is _Makrumah_ and the male variety of gential mutilation is sunna! And do you know why Muslims early on established the concept of _Isnad_ in the hadith? The clear answer is that they realized that it is alll fraud and no hadith can be linked to the historical Muhammad and the idea of hadith da3eef and hadith sahih was just to tell the world that only Allahu 'A3lam what is real and what is not. So much for the hadith! But the problem here is the likes of Sheikh al-Azhar who declared in 1981 that good Muslims should ignore the anti-female circumcision in Egypt at the time because the Prophet declared that female genital mutilation to be: makrumah. And in the process most of females in Egypt are subjected to such barbarism in the name of your Allah!! So much for a hadith da3eef!! Now as for the male variety: Islamic law does not require that adult males that convert to Islam have to undergo this barbarity so your argument here is no argument. As least early Musilms realized that such barbarity can kill an adult male. What is most amazing here is that we are told by the Islamic tradition that Muhammad was born with _no_ foreskin! This makes you wonder that may be Muhammad suffered from hypospadius! So if your allah can do this little favor for Muhammad (being born with no foreskin), and if non-Muslims converting to Islam do not have to be subjected to such barbarity, we are left with innocent Muslim little boys being subjected to such barbarity. So much for the logic of Islam! But i suppose that it is either that your Allah is not omnipotent or he is a sadist! But again there is always enlightened Muslims that can see through this nonsense. The Libyan Judge Mustafa Kamal al-Mahdawi (see Gollaher page 51-51) published a book where he questioned the legitimacy of male circumcision as the Qur'an is silent about it. He argued that it is a jewish custom and that male circumcision deserved no standing in islam! Enter the Wahhabi sheikh of the Great Mosque in Medina who in 1992 issued a fatwa that declared the judge as an apostate. So much for free thinking in Islam. 4. So why do you pray Reema? You did not answer my question. And your answer of why not is no answer. Why is your Allah that needy? And why do we as human beings need a God? And why do little kids have to suffer in his name (genital mutilation that is)? There is nothing in the Qur'an that is original, not a thing, and if you indeed believe that islam is an extension of Judaism and Christianity why do we have Islam when we have the original ones? 5. And why would your Allah declare that the ultimate sin is: shirk and not killing 3000 innocent people in cold blood in the 9/11 atrocity? I believe inash' al-rabb (I do not believ that allah is a real God) that Islam will be defeated in the market place of ideas, and as sad as the 9/11 atrocity was it opened our eyes to the evil of Islam. Thank you for listening. Submitting....
