Why Mr Mumin Salihs list is wrong and aimed at defaming Muslims!!Reader comment on item: Caught My Eye - Noteworthy Quotes Submitted by Tiermo (United States), Aug 17, 2006 at 11:41 First note Mr Salihs bias is aimed squarely at insuring people leave their religon to follw his direction as he so tries each day in his diatribes on Islam-Watch. I do hope in the future he reads a bit more before writing such incorrect statements. 1958 A Vickers Viscount Cubana on route from Miami to Varadero to Havana was hijacked by Cuban militants not Arabs or Muslims April 15, 1959 plane is hijacked from Cuba to Miami. The hijackers were four members of Batista´s Army not Arabs or Muslims First U.S. Aircraft Hijacked, May 1, 1961: Puerto Rican born Antuilo Ramierez Ortiz forced at gunpoint a National Airlines plane from Miami International Airport to fly to Havana, Cuba, where he was given asylum, so you were wrong Mr Salih it was a Puerto Rican Not a Muslim. March 27, 1966 Angel María Betancourt Cueto armed with a pistol, tries to hijack a plane from Santiago de Cuba to Havana, with 97 persons, in an attempt to reach the US. The pilot Fernando Álvarez Pérez, opposed the hijacking and landed in Havana. The hijacker then killed Alvares and air-steward Edor Reyes, seriously wounding the copilot Evans Rosales. not Arabs or Muslims ... Your list is incorrect about the first Hijack in 1967 – Correction is 23 July 1968, when a PFLP cell hijacked an El-Al plane en route from Rome to Lod and diverted it to Algeria. Now as for the first Bomb in a Plane that dubious achievement goes to an American named Jack Gilbert on November 1, 1955 United Airlines Flight 629. NOT the 1980s by Arabs as your list suggest, see the pattern here or incorrect data on your list. Regarding the “shoe bomb” well again you need to look back a little further in history, specifically to WWII where German sabotage agents developed an exploding bar of chocolate and what was probably the first shoe-bomb. Finally the last error is the reference to use of Fluid Explosives, I will let you check the validity of this statement but a hint is Nitroglycerin has been around and used for not so good purposes since the early 1900’s.
