the CAIR splinter cellReader comment on item: CAIR's Twisted Stand on Academic Freedom Submitted by James Norman (United States), Sep 5, 2006 at 13:19 If the goal of CAIR is to ‘help' Americans understand Islam then it's a splinter cell of a much larger group that I do not wish to understand. If CAIR is set out to help Islam understand Americans then I would say welcome aboard and enjoy your journey to becoming an American. You need to understand that people can be a citizen of the USA and never become American as we are a way of life. This is the fundamental problem with groups like CAIR. They want to bridge the gaps by pushing ideologies on Americans and place faults on Americans. Right now Islam has a major image problem in America and CAIR is doing nothing to fix it. All it does is place blame on Americans for faults inherent in Islam. If Islam is not compatible with the freedoms of Americans then this needs to be made known to Muslims who wish to move here before they get here. I would hate to hurt their feelings when they get here and they find out that to cover your wife's face in public is viewed as evil in our culture. We are not the flop house for the 3rd world and the left overs of the 14th century. We are the driving force of western culture and Islam needs to catch up or get out of the way.
