I would like to raise several more issues:

A) Shoebat claims to fear for his life - thus the use of an assumed name. Yet his picture is plastered all over the web. How is it that someone who "fears for his life" to the extent that he has to hide his identity allows his picture to be seen all over the world? Answer?

B)The "proof" Mr. Pipes offered to my query with regard to Shoebat's identity is that he claims to have seen documentation that satisfied him. But no such documentation has been offered to anyone else. Mr. Pipes also indicates that the "proof" of Shoebat's having been a wanted terrorist is weak to the point of being non exitstent. Yet Shoebat continues to put himself forward as a "former terrorist". At the very least he needs to come clean about this.

C) It is most unhelpful to raise the anti semitic accusation against those who question Shoebat. The need for Mr. Shoebat (or whatever his name is - the Lebanese Phalangist explanation is the most plausible to me at this point) to verify his identity has nothing to do with whether or not someone supports Israel or has a love for or aversion to Jews. Its about exposing a phony who is using his soap box to spread hatred.

Here's the more important question: could it be that the blind hatred of those who are cheering Mr. Shoebat on for Palestinians makes them less critical than they should be about his identity? In other words - is it because ou like what he has to say that you find it so important to defend him?

I would just advise you to be careful here as there are many who have supported so called "experts" whose messages they wanted to hear only to find out that they were, indeed, phonies. Just be ready to have the egg peeled off your face when the truth becomes known.
