It is very clear you have no clue about sub-continental history. Pakistan was purely created on religious lines. British decided to play havoc by diving the country on religious lines to pander to the Islamic fanatics who never accepted Hindus as equals just as the Arab muslims never accept Jews as equals. Tell me which country does not have problems where there are sufficient number of muslims living. For you to say these disputes wouldn't have arisen is laughable. Muslims are always the aggressors and are the source of problems not solutions. While India left it to the muslims to choose between a secular India and an Islamic Pakistan, Pakistan systematically butchered and converted millions of Hindus and christians to Islam. The difference between India and Pakistan is like chalk and cheese which has widened even further in the last few decades. Millions of 'Indian' muslims were 'wiser' in choosing to stay back (to our detriment) and build a prosperous life. Yet in their hearts and minds they are 'Pakistanis'.

This has been the grouse of us majority Indians (hindus, christians). They (a majority of them) almost always supported Pakistan either openly or refusing to condemn Pak's belligerent actions be it the recent Kargil invasion or the previous wars of 1971 and 1965 (Pak. was humiliated in any case) or the continuous wars by proxy thru Islamic terrorists. Pakistan's Hindus and christian populations (especially the Hindu) has shown a dramatic decline since the partition in 1947 while the same muslim population has exploded in India. Just as Israel, the size of New Jersey is sorrounded by a sea of enemies India faces an eternal enemy in Pakistan. Just as the jews are depicted as being inferior to muslims the Hindus are referred the same way in Pakistan school text books. A pakistani student is taught to hate Hindus from the time he learns to read.

The subject of India's independence and the subsequent partition of the country is a vast one and cannot be summed up here. I request you visit relevant sites to gain knowledge on this topic. It is not too much for us to ask for support from the western govt. vis-a-vis Pakistan. My contention is that the West has always played a double game in matters relating to Kashmir, dismissing it as a regional conflict, and as it best suited them. Now you expect India to support US in the war in Iraq or even Afghanistan (though the reasons for not supporting is purely appeasement of muslims to garner votes) . The US has always sided with Pak. right from the cold war era due to India's closer ties with the erstwhile USSR. But these are things consigned to the history books and what we now see is a new world order where civilised societies are fighting for survival against a barbaric and outmoded religious beliefs which is trying to impose itself on billions.

The US and the western countries are continually fooling themselves re Pak's role in the war on terror. It is anybody's guess that Bin Laden is in Pakistan, most likely in Pak. occupied Kashmir. The Karzai Govt. has been continuously complaining about Pak.'s support to terror activities in Afghanistan. If you are an avid follower of current events, which I am, you would see that almost all terror related incidents have their roots in Pakistan. Just to name a few the '93 WTC attacks, 9/11, 7/7 london, recent airplane plot, the canadian (thwarted) plot. It will not bean overstatement to say that Pakistan is the "EPICENTRE OF TERRORISM". When there is an Islamic terror strike of a very high magnitude anywhere in the world, the epicenter undoubtedly traces back to Pakistan. Pakistan is the worst proliferator of nuclear technology in the world. Why hasn't the US and other western nations thought it fit to probe their 'salesman par excellence' 'Nuclear' Khan but Iran is being hounded yet there is a link between Iran's nuclear knowhow and Pakistan's. I repeat the US and western countries are fooling themselves BIG TIME. I do agree you are all caught in a very tricky situation but you have work out and work out fast to wriggle out of the situation even if it means a very unpleasant one. Any delay may lead to catastrophic events.
