Europe is out of controlReader comment on item: [Appeasement Explains] Why Europe Balks Submitted by Thomas J. Jackson (United States), Jan 28, 2003 at 20:25 Europe seeks appeasement today because it has disarmed both physically and morally. Its politicans posture and lie. Germany and France took no action in the Balkans during ethnic cleansing. Its immigration policies have welcome huge numbers of Moslems in the belief they would assimilate. But these countries wound up not with integrated new citizens, but with distinct Moslem populations who rejected the values of Europe. Sweden's second largest religion today is Islam! Both because of these populations and because of the trade, both open and covert, that goes on with nations like Iraq, Europe cannot confront the threat it now faces. Churchill said "There will always be those that seek to remain neutral when called on to support the fire brigade or the fire." Europe fulfills Churchill's warning.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
