Divide and ruleReader comment on item: [Appeasement Explains] Why Europe Balks Submitted by Gabriel Grosso (United Kingdom), Jan 29, 2003 at 14:28 Whether you are in North America, France or Germany, your main reason for concern should be the totalitarian ideology of Militant Islam. Those sad French and Germans don't realise that their freedom will soon be taken away by Militant Islam. If France and Germany want to be ruled by a totalitarian system, then be it. But for the rest of us, North-Americans, Britons, Italians, Spaniards etc., there is a good reason to work together. Machiavelli once said that in order to rule you need to divide first. Militant Islam is doing exactly that. The totalitarian ideology of Militant Islam has learned from both Fascism and Communism. There are a lot of similarities between Marxism-Leninism and Militant Islam. For a start, they are both totalitarian. Secondly, they seek to conquer the world. Thirdly, they try to divide their enemies. The totalitarian ideology of Militant Islam has a vanguard like Marxism-Leninism. We are faced by a totalitarian threat and we still manage to be divided. As a totalitarian ideology, Militant Islam enjoys none of the sanctity of traditional Islam. I respect traditional Islam but I am afraid of Militant Islam. France and Germany have failed to recognize the threat coming from this new brand of totalitarianism. This is a losing strategy and we will hear about its consequences in the near future. If the world had failed to stand up to Marxism-Leninism, we would live in a totalitarian system now. Fascism was the threat in the 1930s; Communism replaced it in 1945; and Militant Islam is the new threat. If we are not united, Militant Islam will win. Pity France and Germany for failing to understand that.
