I have an intellectual perogative because I have an intellect.Reader comment on item: El Al, "Goy" Airline? Submitted by Issac (United States), Jan 4, 2007 at 19:11 Let's get one thing straight, you're Yaakov and I'm Issac, so you listen to me, son. If you really believe that God is going to cause you to suffer because of the avayrot of others, then that amounts to a psychological disorder. A just God would not do that. Further, morality governs a person's relationship with other people. Morality does not cover a man's relationship with God because you can't hurt God and someone who thinks he can is also mentally deranged. And you miss the point about the religious totalitarianism thing- there is little point in Israel fighting totalitarians from other religions that want to shove an overly-puritian society and their miscellaneous rules down everyone's throat if upon victory we are going to get to have to deal with religious totalitarians of our own that want to shove our own religion down our own throats even though there's people that may not want it to be that way. If anything your argument is also reminicent of that of the communists but with a religious twist. Communists sometimes argue that the regular middle class individual doesn't know that capitalism is an oppressive economic system and thus needs the communists to teach it to him, out of love of course, and you're saying that if a person flips a lightswitch on Shabbat, it is going to cause a piano to fall on people from a ten story building and thus the lightflipper must be stopped!!!, out of love of course because the guy who flips the lightswitch does not know that he is going to cause the sky to fall down and maybe also thunderstorms, hurricanes, floods etc. It sounds a little off, doesn't it? It is also nice that we are able to disagree. Such disagreement would not be possible if we lived in the theocracy that you seem to be advocating.
