God may have a special covenant with the Jewish people but ....Reader comment on item: El Al, "Goy" Airline? Submitted by Issac (United States), Jan 11, 2007 at 20:26 God may have a special covenant with the Jewish people but we live an an age where we are supposed to be beyond holy wars, jihads and religous bickering in general. In the modern world, how one connects to religion is supposed to be his or her own choice. That is the whole point about fighting this present day war against certain others, and while that war is waged, is the Jewish people seriously going to have to duke it out amongst ourselves on these same kind of issues??? .... Thank God we know how not to kill each other over disagreements unlike other people. Some people just decide to boycot instead of kill, and that's fine. It is perfectly within their rights. We're not going back to the age of the sanhedrin. Sorry. And you STILL miss the point on what morality is - morality is a thing to keep people from hurting other people ..... it has nothing to do with a person's relationship with God. Tefellin .. ..... tisitsit ....... shabbat .... the wool and linen thing in clothes .... all religious rules and not moral rules. I'm not going to cover this again. if you really think that my first paragraph from before is not relavant to anything then you seriously need read it again and take it in context of what the both of us has been saying. Lastly, although it was wrong and unprofressional for the captain on the aircraft to make a snide remark like that .... what were the datiem doing, were they doing the shmonah esreh during landing? There must have been some misbehavor on the plane to one extent or another. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
