One more pointReader comment on item: El Al, "Goy" Airline? Submitted by Yaakov Watkins (United States), Jan 7, 2007 at 00:41 This started as an attack on the Hareidim for telling El Al that they were doing something wrong. Yes I would rather fly on a non-Jewishly owned airline than on a Jewish one that violated shabbes. That is my personal choice. You on the other hand seem to accuse me of wanting to create a theocracy because of that. You seem to be advocating that the Hareidim be censored. Who is advocating totalitarianism? And yes there are two problems with electricity. One is building, and one is fire. Some electrical circuits do not cause fire. Others do. White hot metal is considered a fire by halacha. Creating one is creating a fire on shabbes. Adjusting a rheostat or a silicone controlled rectifier to feed more electricity to a glowing tungsten filament is feeding a fire.
