Religion-real or a stereotype?

When most people look at religion they see a group of people that gather together periodically for worship services to a God or gods. I see a group of people that come together under a common knowledge; under one belief that categorizes them with one another. The fact that most people go to "church" on Sunday or once a month or something like that, biases, I think, many people to think that church is in fact a ficticious service created just to take people's money up in the offering. When in reality church is a gathering of people under one faith, one doctorine as one people. I myself attend a non-denominational church where many branches of the Christian Faith are sort of fused or "snowballed" into one religion. In conclusion [i know that this is an abrupt ending but, I have homework to do] I believe that "Religion is just a way to categorize people of different beliefs. The actual word "RELIGION" has no deeper meaning to me at all.
