it`s always good to put yourself in another person's shoes, when reflecting on their views. try this. imagine the u.s.a was populated with native americans and no european invasion had taken place. you yourself would be a native american. now imagine that france was a world super power and for the last 50 years it had interfered in your nations internal politics. either by supporting a despotic regime or helping to destabilize a popular leader , as in the case of allende. all this was being done for its own economic or political reasons. imagine it also had military bases in your land and all because you have huge natural resources. even though the vast majority of europeans like americans they look on your governments as a hugely destabilising influence on the world post u.s.s.r. collapse
