To Moderate muslim1: Lucky you!Reader comment on item: A Madrasa Grows in Brooklyn Submitted by Plato (United Arab Emirates), May 9, 2007 at 07:24 Moderate Muslim1, I have some issues with you about this post of yours. You write: "Arabic is an important language to learn. Without it, one cannot fully understand the depth of the Quran...." The question that has been asked time and again about having to learn Arabic to understand the Koran is why has Allah made his message practically opaque to all non-arabic communities. (Let us leave aside the fact that it is opaque even to Arabs considering they have to wade through to all those tafsirs to understand it). If nonArabs have to spend years and years struggling to understand Arabic and only then really comprehend the depth of the Koran it argues for a God who is biased in favour of Arabs. And Allah's bias towards the Arabs comes through time and again in the Koran. 003.033 Surely Allah chose Adam and Nuh and the descendants of Ibrahim and the descendants of Imran above the nations. 002.158 Behold! Safa and Marwa are among the Symbols of Allah. So if those who visit the House in the Season or at other times, should compass them round, it is no sin in them. And if any one obeyeth his own impulse to good,- be sure that Allah is He Who recogniseth and knoweth. Why are these idolatorous symbols of Allah in Arabia? Could God not have given some symbols in other lands? Allah makes circumambulating these symbols (idols) in Arabia sinless but other people (Hindus, Budhists etc) who do the same with their symbols of God (Allah) are considered sinners. Why? And what about that idol, to end all idols, the Kaaba meteorite? Millions gather in Mecca to kow-tow to it and probably a billion bow towards it five times a day. Why do all these idols of Allah have to be in Arabia? Since Allah does not have any fixed abode on earth why can't you install your own black stone in one's own country and turn towards it while praying? Do you see Allah's special favour towards his favourite race the Arabs shining through? Several times the Koran makes clear in no uncertain terms that his message is for them, the Arabs only: 041.003 A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;- 041.044 Had We sent this as a Qur'an (in the language) other than Arabic, they would have said: "Why are not its verses explained in detail? What! (a Book) not in Arabic and (a Messenger an Arab?" Say: "It is a Guide and a Healing to those who believe; and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes): They are (as it were) being called from a place far distant!" Moderate Muslim, can you now see that your Allah is fluent only in Arabic, for otherwise he would have also given the same favour to people who speak other tongues. You write: "No matter what Daniel Pipes, or anyone on this board says, I will never have to answer for my religion in America, because most Americans arent as bloodthirsty and hateful as the people on this board." Yes, you don't have to answer for your religion in America. Lucky you. In the land of kafirs, despite the fact that Allah and his Prophet tells you they are unclean, many are descended from pigs and apes ,they should not be befriended and they should be made into dhimmis when the opportunity arises they allow you to live peacefully and earn a good living, preach Islam and maybe even end up as the President of the land. Now do a thought experiment and relocate yourself in a Muslim majority country as an ahle kitab or maybe a polytheist. What rights would the majority Muslims condescend to give you? In some of them sharia will entitle you to receive only half the compensation a Muslim receives in case of an accident.. You cannot aspire to top political and judicial jobs. If you preached your religion you will go to jail or worse. Even in a country like Malaysia, if you married a Muslim woman and had children by her, you may be forced to divorce her. In most you will not be allowed a place of worship. You will most definitely have to answer for your religion in them. Like the 'bloodthirty and hateful' Muslims in Pakistan make the Ahmediyas answer for their sect, the Iranians make the Bahais answer for their religion, the Saudis make the Shias answer for theirs. LUCKY YOU. Moderate Muslim you also write: "When someone commits a crime in the name of Islam, Muslims dont have to say sorry, they dont have to apologize, they have to say "this piece of ... wasnt following Islam"." You don't have to say sorry for them, true, but then why do you keep haranguing us about the great achievements of Muslims of byegone times like Ibn Sina, Al farabi, Al Razi and others. If a Muslim does something for which the community wants to take credit, equally the discredit should fall on the community when some of its members misbehave. It is this attempt to shrug off Al qaeda, Taliban, Deobandis and their ilk as not products of Islam that makes us kafirs laugh in your face. Attempting to have your cake and eat it too is a comic act. They will be able to quote chapter and verse to prove the purity of the Islam they espouse. You must be willing to accept these terrorists and their religious masters are the products of Islam. There is no getting away from this unpleasant fact. Only when the large mass of Muslims accept this will they be able to begin to bring some sanity to dar al islam.
