Two 'Palestines?' Not Likely!Reader comment on item: Two Palestines, Anyone? Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jun 19, 2007 at 15:41 If anyone is astonished that Hamas has taken over Gaza and they are now fighting over the West Bank, then ignorance should be claimed for not understanding how all of this is happening, because the truth of the situation is not recognized. When left to their own devices, the squabbling Muslim factions will not be able to come to terms of power, because the lust for power is at the root of their contentious behavior. The concept of two ‘Palestines' will remain just that, a concept. Just as there would be no two State solution to the dilemma of the land of the nation of Israel, the land is no longer meant to be divided. Whatever divisions there were in history, ever since the initial re-establishment of Israel in her own land in 1948, the process will be to continue towards the ultimate goal of Israel being completed in fulfillment of the promise to Abraham. The battle going on is based on each sides notion of which son was the heir to the promise, Isaac, or Ishmael; the son born to the freewoman, or her bondwoman. In the realm of the world as we see it today, slaves can rise to power, usually by revolution or outright conquest. Not until the power is consolidated will the final solution be in view, and those that are slaves to the quest of power will not win. Only those who submit to the true power of the universe, the Sovereign Eternal if Israel, will see and share the victory accomplished in His plans. The infighting of the Muslim factions and the propagation of instability by their foreign protractors do nothing more than to keep everyone guessing as to what might happen next. But there has been a plan all along, running according to a schedule that is more ancient that the land itself. In the Hebrew Bible, the outline and execution of the plan can be traced from century to century, from moment to moment. Peel through the pages of Daniel for an external sketch of things to come, then to Ezekiel for the intersection of history on the hills of Israel, continuing through Zephaniah for the protocol that engulfs Gaza(land of the Cherethites/Philistines), circling around to Zechariah where the finish is in view. Take all the comfort you might need as a believer in such things. The outcome is assured. The Almighty God of the Hebrew Bible who sends His Anointed to return to Jerusalem, wins. On the other hand, if one does not believe, or prefers to think another will come in the place of the returning Messiah, all you need to do is wait. Or, preferably, escape all that is about to befall those who do not believe, and come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Will there be Two ‘Palestines'? No. A two state solution is even less of a possibility, the attempt already tried and failed. If one could ask Sharon, he would tell all. In spite of that, PM Olmert remains unaffected by the consequences and yet is unable to bring it about. Truly, the next step is to respond to the great conflict that is about to break out, and it now appears that it will come from the north.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
