What difference does it make?Reader comment on item: Suicide Reversal? Polling the Muslim world Submitted by Romesh Chander (United States), Jul 26, 2007 at 17:08 What difference does it make that support for 'suicide bombings' is on the decrease in the Muslim world? When are decisions in the muslim world made in a democratic manner where they really ascertain the wishes of the people? They are not looking for a million 'suicide bombers'. Probably, a thousand 'suicide bombers' per year will be enough to bring the the entire world to its knees. Are 1000 'suicide bombers' available? I am sure, Islamist mullahs can easily find and train 1000 'martyrs'. By the way, that 1000 'suicide bombers' amounts to just one 'suicide bomber' per one million muslims. No matter how much support for 'suicide bombings' declines in the muslim world, they can always find one muslim out of a population of one million. And it does not require much money to support the training of a 'suicide bomber'. Why are we only worried by 'suicide bombings'? Truck/car bombings can and do an equally good amount of damage and killing; and they can be easily detonated using remote control devices (like the recent failed ones in London). You could park a donkey or a camel loaded with dynamite and remote control device; it will do plenty of killing and damage. We refuse to discuss the real problem -- Islam as a an ideology where terrorism is a 'religiously' accepted method for achieving political and 'religious/ideological' ends. Let us get away from Political Correctness and discuss (and solve) the real problem. Without analysing the real problem, you cannot solve the real problem; that is just plain common sense.
