"Working the System"Reader comment on item: Suicide Reversal? Polling the Muslim world Submitted by Carol Derbis (United States), Jul 28, 2007 at 16:49 This aspect, "Working the System" is a lot more frightening than suicide bombings - simply because people, those who are too lazy and apathetic to read and study issues, are far too gullible and willing to believe what potential 'leaders' tell them. Promises and rhetoric fly freely during elections. Once in office, as we have sadly realized, these same people often act in direct opposition to the will of the people they are supposed to represent. Directly related to this, I have a question to Mr. Pipes and others about one of our Democratic candidates for President: Barack Obama. I know he says he has converted to 'Christianity'. I have serious doubts about this claim considering his upbringing and considering Quranic law which tells its followers that it is within Islamic law to lie to non-believers if in doing so one can achieve a desired result. So - the thought of even a possible Islamic president is very frightening to me - and to a great number of other people as well. Even the so-called Christian Church to which he belongs is quite questionable - as the pastor of that church is an openly anti-white racist. I've not only read about him, but have seen numerous interviews with him so that this is not just an off-the-cuff opinion of mine. We already have one Muslim Congressman, Ellison from Illinois. And this Congressman refused to be sworn in using the Bible - which has been used continuously in the history of this nation. And when asked how he would vote when given a direct choice between Sharia Law and the Constitution, he has never given a direct answer. In view of above statements, 'working within the system' is not some far off concept.....it seems quite real and palpable......and far, far too many Americans are just too apathetic to pay attention to detail. It is up to us--- to WE, THE PEOPLE - to elect the correct people. I supposed it will never happen, but we should get rid of ALL career politicians - who are dangerous to the whole concept of Democracy. I have read a lot of history surrounding the founding of this nation - and I do not believe that our Founders had career politicians in mind when this nation was founded. And we MUST be more alert to those who are, in fact, trying to take over this country from within. Our very future as a nation depends on it!
