Just because you're Islamophobic, doesn't mean that Islamics are not out to get you!Reader comment on item: A CAIR Miscellany Submitted by DrRJP (United States), Nov 27, 2007 at 00:15 The recent trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF): a Muslim "charity" charged with 197 counts of funding terrorism, prompted Parvez Ahmed, to accuse our government of "using a fear campaign to smear the HLF " and wasting our tax monies "to counter nonexistent Muslim conspiracies to overthrow the American Constitution and impose Shariah laws." CAIR successfully uses the media and the legal system to divert America's attention away from their illegal actions, such as publishing BTW, TheReligionofPeace.com website pointed out that "of the more than 3,100 fatal Islamic terror attacks committed in the last four years, I had a chance to read through Lisa Gardner's account of Ahmad's infamous speech to Muslims in Fremont, CA, and besides the remarks about Islam being dominant and the Koran, the sole authority in America, there are a few other things that really stick in my craw. Like telling Muslims to keep to themselves and not to assimilate into American society. But, to me, the most egregious comment was urging Muslims not to shirk their duty of sharing the Islamic faith with those who are "on the wrong side." "Wrong side?" Like those who value freedom of religion and human rights? I guess that's what he meant when he spoke against people trying to impose values onto Islam. OK. So, now, Muslims now have two duties: (1) to proselytize Islam in America, and (2) to murder anyone who proselytizes American religions in Muslim countries. Finally, when he says, "...you have a responsibility to deliver the message of Islam," is he referring to the "Convert or Die" message that Islamics delivered in Indonesia, Somalia, Sudan, India, and so on? If we have "Islamophobia," then he has "Non-Islamophobia." Why does an organization like CAIR (Council for American-Islamic Relations), who claims to protect the welfare of other Muslims, do all they can to thwart any discussion of Islamic terrorism whose primary victims are overwhelmingly other Muslims? First of all, Parvez Ahmed would have us believe that we invented the word, "Islamic terrorism." He condescendingly dismisses the comments of American political and religious leaders claiming that "radical Islam," "militant Islam," "Islamism," and "Islamofascism" are nothing more than their misguided references to Islam itself. Crying "Islamophobia," he bashes the Bush Administration, the State Department, and key members of the Evangelical Christian community for their "belligerent viewpoints." Does he wants us to be nice with the people who chant, "Death to America?" I understand his frustration given that CAIR is also one of those accused of funding terrorism – specifically Hamas. Whoever is really funding these barbaric terrorists would do and say anything to hide their illegal activities, wouldn't they? Here's a timely quote from an article I found ("Al Taqiyya: The Islamist Terrorist Weapon of Deception.") that explains why Islamic organizations like CAIR and the HFL resort to using lies and deception when asked about their activities: I once heard a CAIR spokesman say that "Just like Christians and Jews, Muslims also follow the Ten Commandments." Sure they do...and just like the Miami Dolphins, their record is 0 for 10. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
