Root cause of the rise of American Islamism?Reader comment on item: A CAIR Miscellany Submitted by Owen (United States), Jul 12, 2010 at 02:04 I have followed this website and Robert Spencer's website Jihad Watch on and off for two+ years now. Both Pipes and (Spencer) do a PHENOMENAL job of keeping everyday Americans like myself who are yearning for knowledge and understanding of what muslim groups like CAIR are doing inside this country. However, I feel the obvious is often not debated as much as it should be. The rapid rise of Islam in America is due chiefly and almost predominately because of our country's open door mass immigration laws & policies. Islam is here because we have been letting it in through the front door since 1965 when the foundational structure of our national immigration law was changed by Ted Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. It was firther worsened after Bush Sr./Clinton when we started immigrating a million to million + people here every year since 1990. Is it any wonder why we have a radical Islamic problem here in America now?! For the love of God - the solution is simple - cut off the immigration and you cut off the growth of Islamism here in America. With current patterns of immigration and given current levels of immigration - the U.S. will rise from 0.6% muslim population to over 2% in just 15 short years. I for one don't want any more growth of Islam in America because that is where Radical Islam and Islamists come from. In my own (non major) metropolitan area I already see young African American or black Americans converting to this religion.
