What Are We To Do?Reader comment on item: Preface Submitted by Geoff (Canada), Nov 28, 2007 at 14:35 F.Sha, you are stating the obvious dangers that may be just around the corner. But what is the solution? I have seen plenty of discussions and concerns about islam on the net. I hate to say that we have become alarmist, but I think our concern (indeed a global concern) is very real, seeing the beheadings, executions by so-called "moral police" of women, and other unthinkable acts done, admittedly, by the extreme element. Let me ask you f.sha, how do we broadcast further your claim (which is shared by millions) that muslims are masking the true intent of islam to the gullible and ignorant so that they can see beyond the haze... It's the same ol' formula of sinister success: hide the evil intent with a veil of love and innocense: ...let us remember how the Jews were coralled to concentration camps by Nazis who welcomed them with a fraudulent facade of musical orchestras and pleasant assurances at the gates in order to calm the masses, and soon after, the genocide began... ...let us remember Hitler who at first signed a treaty with Russia, and then turned on the Russians who were ill-prepared...and lost 200 million souls... The good news is that good always prevails over evil, but at a very expensive cost if not countered early enough: Does any one remember the after-effects of the Treaty Of Versailles, where the european leaders --particularly Chamberlain-- went into denial that Germany was re-arming itself for a European invasion, rejecting any sense of alterior motives by the Germans to strike out against Europe. A costly mistake that should not have been. Should we make more? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
