Important article: Pipes is exploring a critical area which should be more openly discussedReader comment on item: Fund the Palestinians? Bad Idea Submitted by rick (United States), Dec 19, 2007 at 18:04 "Aid" to palestinians is and has been at an absurd point now for 30 years. Arafat was blowing up airplanes and shooting up airports in Europe and Euors were rushing to send the PLO money. In fact, little has changed except planes are not hijacked as they once were. Arafat understood that a continuation of blowing up Lufthansa or Air France and tossing crippled people off luxury ocean liners was bad publicity but blowing up Egged buses full of Israelis or executing Jews in drive by shootings or even in their homes ( as long as they were dreaded "settlers" - a dirty word if ever there was one, was ok and the world wouldn't care that much. Palestinians have been in the forefront of terrorism since the 1950s and in 1968 crossed over to the really bigtime by attacking Jews in the Munich Olympics. But the Olympics went on after a short ceremony where Israel and terrorism wasnt even mentioned and arafat knew his gamble had paid off. The truth is that more money means more guns in the hands of the wrong people. It justifies every murder these terrorists committed and will commit. Coating that with the type of speech making Condi Rice makes is disgusting. I thought Bush and Republicans could be counted on for at least saying NO to the People of Terror but his need to make the Arab world like him is now more of a reason to sell Israel down the drain. The money trail never lies but if the facts are known- Suha arafat's bank hidden bank accounts of millions if not a billion of Western money - and nothing is even discussed, this gives hope to the next corrupt palestinian who will make lots of money and still be able to get Jews killed. Dahlan is such a person. Maybe Bush thinks lots of money will make them forget about their desire to kill Jews. He is wrong. Money can buy happiness but for Arabs and palestinians in particular, real happiness is seeing Jews die and nothing can replace that for these amoral and immoral people.
