"why is it evil Dr Whaley?"

In referring to "evil," Dr Whaley points up the incongruity of his deeply held faith commitment to the naturalistic rationalism he has affirmed many times. How can "evil" and "good" exist Dr Whaley, without the source of all goodness, the good, good God your faith commitment denies, and against which "evil" can be defined?

The reality is that it is impossible to distinguish evil from good, without a reference point that is infinitely good, and that infinite reference point for distinguishing good from evil can be found only in the person of God, for God alone can exhaust the definition of absolute goodness. If God does not exist, then there are no moral absolutes by which one has the ability to judge something (or someone), as being evil, the reality of evil requiring God's existence, rather than disproving it.

All human beings are of infinite worth to the good, good God Who created them, and without Him, a human being is nothing but enough fat for seven bars of soap, nothing but enough iron for a medium sized nail, nothing but enough sugar to sweeten seven cups of tea, nothing but enough lime to whitewash a hencoop, nothing but enough sulphur to rid a dog of fleas, nothing but enough Phosphorus to tip 2,200 matches, nothing but enough Magnesium for a dose of salts and nothing but enough...

How is it possible to be evil to just a collection of "nothing buts" Dr Whaley?
