Um...Reader comment on item: John Hagee, the Holocaust, and Me: Thinking about Allies Submitted by Robert Parker (United States), Jun 11, 2008 at 13:38 "The Iranian regime has given the West ample cause for worry about its intentions and general mindset in recent years. Over and above tensions stemming from terrorism, nuclear activity, and other issues, statements from Iranian leaders since President Ahmadinezhad's election have led many to conclude that the regime may be guided by an apocalyptic vision that would welcome chaos as a way to hasten the reappearance of the "Hidden Imam." Can the president and Supreme Leader be treated as rational actors on issues as fraught with peril as nuclear proliferation?" To whom it may concern (Dan I guess), Hagee and much of our current leadership have the identical simple-minded apocalyptic vision for ushering in the return of Christ. Both (they and the iranian leadership as well as anyone who holds similar beliefs) are a bunch of infantile, delusional nutcases and I hope they can be brought into the 21st century before one, the other, or both, kill us all. ... An apocalypse is an apocalypse regardless of which religious nuts start it. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
