I feel so much better now. NOT!Reader comment on item: Hamas in Florida Classroom Submitted by Steve Balog (United States), Jan 29, 2004 at 14:18 I sent an email of displeasure to FAU and Fulbright. I haven't heard back from Fulbright but I got the same form letter from FAU that is on this web site. In response to the University, I sent the following:"Thank you for your response. However, I am fairly sure that our State Dept does not have our security as its number one priority. (The way they handle visas from Saudi Arabia is strong evidence of this.) State's priority seems to be to "make nice" and "maintain a dialogue" with everyone -- even with those whose goal is our destruction. Therefore, getting an "all clear" from State on Abu Sway, gives me almost no comfort as these are the folks that fast tracked Mohammed Atta & Co's visas. They are so loath to create a diplomatic incident and upsetting our so-called friends that they let in hate mongers and killers. State has a massive conflict of interest. If this obvious a conflict of interest existed in my business (investing/Wall Street) it would be front page news and Presidential candidates would make it an issue. How quickly we have forgotten (or never learned?) the lessons of 9/11! FAU should research this individual and make a decision ITSELF, rather than pass the buck to Washington DC bureaucrats. Consider: If a professor said some thing racist and had membership in the KKK, how quickly would the University act to boot the bastard? Would FAU ask for guidance from agencies in Washington? Thank you for your response." I'm still waiting. Steve Balog; Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
