The Turks know who they are.

Reader comment on item: Islamic but Not Shar‘i?

Submitted by Ahmad (United States), Aug 31, 2008 at 01:00

I don't need to read the WSJ to know that the Turkish youth are less secular than their parents are, they are slowly regaining their Islamic identity and heritage. This Kemal Ataturk folklore is losing currency to real Turkish heroes like Muhammad Fatih and will soon be like Stalin in today's Russia, just a footnote. The Russians are re-discovering their Ivans, Catherines, Svyatoslavs.

Sad to say, this Islamic resurgence is a phenomenon growing everywhere.

I am proud to report, that I am seeing my new Muslim brothers from all walks of life, from Buddhist, Hassidic, Southern Baptist, you name it.
