Muslims hurt themselves

Reader comment on item: Islamic but Not Shar‘i?

Submitted by Carol Fuller (United States), Apr 22, 2009 at 12:03

I think that the more "Islamic" a country becomes the more problems it will have, including poverty. In my book ( See www.muslimeconomictrap.com) I discuss the following blocks to prosperity: all land belonging to the state, inheritance directions in the Qur'an that disrupt the growth of capital (Note that Muhammad seems to assume families will be small !), irrevocable religious endowments, lack of practical education, lack of modern universities and research accomplishments, failure to include women, rapid population growth. and, of course, no way for people to participate in government.

Recently I have become concerned with the encroachment of Islamic education and law in the United States.
