The Islamic way of Ruling

Reader comment on item: Islamic but Not Shar‘i?

Mr Pipes,

Concerning Turkey: If it hurts people, it is very easy to change a governing party with another one. Islam actually is more democratic in ruling than any democracy in the world. At the moment there is only one country (Iran) is close to this but not quite. Saudi Arabia has nothing to do with true ruling way of Islam. In Islam those who are mastered in the subject, who are wise enough, chooses their head and those chosen ones establish cabinet and one becomes the leader.

We can compare this with the Universities in the USA. The president of a university is chosen by the council and the council members are chosen by its faculity members. So in this case even the students are part of a university not everybody gets to choose the presedent. Age does not define eligibility but being part of or knowing does. That's is the way of ruling in Islam. Now you may not like the laws of Islam but I think the way of ruling is the best in all the administrative systems.
