Re: Parents Can't Possibly Be Blamed...Reader comment on item: The Aftermath of Attack in Gaza Submitted by Mark (United States), Jul 25, 2002 at 09:19 Amjad Khan says that blaming parents "for the deaths of their children is a most horrifying comment." Perhaps it is horrifying, but the evidence suggests that it is also accurate. You don't need to believe Israeli sources to know that Palestinian parents are willing to use their children as tools in this war. You need to listen to Palestinian parents. It is clear that there are plenty of Palestinian parents who would be honored for their children to act as sheilds for a Hamas leader. We don't know if this is the case for the parents of these dead children, but it far from being an absurd or ridiculous suggestion. "How could they want their children (7 of the 9 dead children were under the age of 5!) to die in defense of Hamas leaders?" asks Amjad Khan. Very good question. The fact that some clearly are happy to see their children die dehumanizes them indeed.
