The Parents Are To Blame for Child AbuseReader comment on item: The Aftermath of Attack in Gaza Submitted by Mark Feldstein (United States), Jul 26, 2002 at 12:03 When Palestinian mothers say they are proud to give a child for Palestine, I am furious because no civilized human has a right to sacrifice another, even in G-d's name. This is child abuse at its worst, resulting in the child's death. I, as a parent, would move myself and my kids to a cave in the desert before putting them at risk in a building with a mass murderer in it, or dodging bullets outside, or whatever this lovely ex-neighborhood had to offer. Unfortuantely for many kids, the majority of Palestinian parents extole the virtues of martyrdom. There seems to be a lack of Arabs willing to take any responsibility for their actions, practice self examination, and modify their actions accordingly to achieve better results. The Israelis take responsibility for the attack, however feeble the explanations. Arab-sponsored resolutions have never taken responsibility or condemned a single Palestinian atrocity, but I've lost count of the times they condemned and held Israel responsible. When the (silent heroes) Palestinians take responsibility for stopping their children and others from murdering Israeli children in ice cream parlors, they will find their image more human and their own neighborhoods safer from collateral damage and flying bullets.
