THE MEDIA IS THE ENEMY - FOX'S MIKE TOBIN -- Tring to Compete with CNN for Most Disinformation and Disgraceful Biased and Violence-Inspiring ReportingReader comment on item: Israel's Strategic Incompetence in Gaza Submitted by Sofasogood (United States), Jan 20, 2009 at 06:35 The Media Is The Enemy -- Fox's Mike Tobin Trying to Compete with CNN for Most Disinformation and Disgraceful Biased and Violence-Inspiring Reporting Fox Reporter Mike Tobin often reports his opinion (usually biased against Israel) as fact. It seems to me that Fox tries to keep him a bit reined in, or he'd be much worse. Reporters sit around in hotel bars with their pals. Peer pressure influences them. He must get a lot of flak because he works for Fox, and being objective, much less Pro-Israel, would amount to total social ostracism. It would take some courage to stand apart. The day before yesterday he reported that the majority of Gazans support Hamas even more after this war. Where did he get this information? What was his source? Did someone take a poll? Baloney. It's either his own opinion, or he's reporting the opinion of some random Palestinian and not letting us know. This is journalism without integrity. Although, given the nature of most Gazans, it would seem he might be right, but at this point it's still nothing but opinion which he reports as fact. And what if, in all the calamity, a poll was taken? Most Gazans and Hamas are the same. But, also, any Gazan who might express even resentment of Hamas would surely be killed. He could report that. That's a fact. There's evidence of the many Palestinians directly killed by Hamas during this war -- Fatah and other dissenters -- even in hospitals. Who has been furnishing the many videos which can be seen on You Tube but not in the Media -- showing Hamas using human shields and other atrocities? There's evidence of factions opposing Hamas. Yet Tobin instead reports as fact what he cannot know. Then today -- Tobin shows us destruction -- a house and some other. Then he let's fully garbed Hamas killers in their Halloween costumes at first deny that many of their own terrorists have been killed -- he does this without comment that maybe, just, perhaps, this could be a lie. He then let's them threaten Israeli civilians with more bombs, and Tobin makes no comment. His one comment was that "Israel" ought to "think twice" before doing something like this again. In two strokes, he supports and encourages with publicity -- and flattering publicity -- terrorists who aim to murder not only Israeli, but their own civilians, pumps up their egos with an American TV appearance which emboldens and encourages them and their cadres to more murders; and secondly opines that Israel is the one to be condemned for defending themselves. Pretty disgusting. Not only is he embarassingly moronic, but incredibly unethical. Certainly it could be said that Tobin can take credit for at least the next baby that dies -- the one he supposedly claims he cares so much about. As a matter of fact, it would be a good idea if every photo of a dead child had a little tag legend, "this dead baby brought to you by (fill in name of the journalist-supporter and encourager of Hamas human shield use)." The shooting of babies is caused by Hamas throwing them into the way of bullets while the Israelis are risking their lives defending their own babies. Who are the journalists defending? What are they defending is a better question. Their bottomless ambitions is the answer. Dead babies is the result. If he and his compadres were less eager to report on and photograph injured and dead women and children, surely Hamas would lose their impetus to use them as human shields. Many died during this war to serve the appetites of the media. Are the reporters causing and doing evil? In their denial, do they project their desire to see dead babies for their career advancement -- onto Israel which does everything it can to avoid harming civilians?
