Azkad: Islam is a wolf under the PEACE sheepskin.Reader comment on item: Israel's Strategic Incompetence in Gaza Submitted by Plato (India), Jan 24, 2009 at 20:46 Azkad, you wrote, >>..I do not know whether you know Arabic or not, but I am for 100% sure that Islam means PEACE.<< Naming a religion or an ideology with a word that means something does not make them do what the name means. This fact should be obvious to any person, even Muslims. The contents of the religion (ideology) give the religion its true meaning. Islam has verses that call upon its followers to fight unbelievers, kill them and be rewarded for it. 009.111 YUSUFALI: Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme. 009.041 YUSUFALI: Go ye forth, (whether equipped) lightly or heavily, and strive and struggle, with your goods and your persons, in the cause of Allah. That is best for you, if ye (but) knew. 002.216 Can anything be clearer than the statement that fighting is mandatory for Muslims? A religion that urges you to fight for the cause of Allah, the cause being a pledge of allegiance to Muhammad and his alter ego, Allah, rather than fighting for any noble cause cannot by any stretch of imagination be considered a religion of peace even if it is named PEACE. Read 2:216, it is practically telling you that fighting is good for you. It reinforces this by saying that Allah knows that fighting is better than sitting at home in peace with yourself and the world. This verse does not tell you that it is meant for a specific situation, nor do the verses before it. But the verse after it, 2:217, seems to have something to do with 2:216. Ibn Kathir, one of the most respected commentators has this to say about 2:216: ‘For this reason it is narrated according to a correct hadith: "Whoever died, and he did not fight in the cause of Allah, nor did he have the intention to do so, has, in fact died as the death of the one who lived in the pre-Islamic period of ignorance." It is quite clear that all Muslims who die without fighting in the cause of Allah are being compared to people who are ignorant. They will never attain paradise. This is on the authority of Allah, Muhammad and Ibn Kathir. Ibn Kathir continues …. ‘But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you', for fighting is often followed by victory over your enemies, and seizing of towns, offspring, property,…' Ibn Kathir is telling you that Allah is saying that fighting can be followed by conquest which will bring in booty in the form of OFFSPRING and property. Why ‘OFFSPRING'? Make a guess Azkad. Islam, the religion of PEACE, shows its true nature with verse 2:216. This leads to 2:217 which gives permission to fight during the prohibited months as long it is in the cause of Allah, ie the cause of Muhammad. For it says ‘tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter'. A clear permission to kill for what Muhammad and the Muslims take to be tumult and oppression. They forget that it was Muhammad who was causing tumult by denigrating the gods of the Meccans. The Meccans only oppressed him mildly when Muhammad went about openly insulting their religion. >>On the other hand, I do support your idea as the term ISLAM is very broad in sense so it encompasses submission, slavery to God, blessing and so forth. << Muslims are so pleased to be slaves. Perhaps that is why they do not find the Koran condoning slavery as abhorrent. They consider themselves to be slaves to do the bidding of Allah. In fact Allah has given a contract to his slaves whereby they will be amply rewarded for killing or being killed. Read 9:111. >>But the problem is not in the term itselt, rather in the comprehension of its meaning, my dear Infidel.<< The problem, my dear Azkad is the term itself. The term PEACE as generally comprehended as standing for non-violence and that comes from respect for all humans whatever their religious, cultural or ideological persuasion as long as these do not infringe on the rights of others. Muslims like you think that because the religion is named PEACE it automatically makes it a religion of non-violence and tolerance. That is why when you see Muslims indulging in gratuitous violence in the name of Islam you think they are not really followers of Islam. If you study your Koran, Hadith and Sira you will realize that violence is the very foundation on which Islam stands and the terrorists have in fact understood their religion and are acting on its exhortations to create tumult and oppression in the world. 058.021 YUSUFALI: Allah has decreed: "It is I and My messengers who must prevail": For Allah is One full of strength, able to enforce His Will. For this order of Allah to be fulfilled Muslims have to create tumult and oppression in the world, and they are doing it, at least the faithful ones. 61:9 He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it conqueror of all religion however much idolators may be averse. This is another verse clearly calling upon Muslims to create tumult and oppression (read what is underlined) in the world to make Islam conquer the world. >>There is no point in arguing over petty stuff, while we have got tremendous things to resolve, barriers to surmount and sacred deeds to carry out. << Arguing over whether Islam is a peaceful religion is not petty stuff. Muslims have the tremendous task of overcoming some of Allah's commandments like 2:216 and 61:9 to make Islam really peaceful. I hope you don't consider Allah's orders in 2:216, 9:111 and 61:9 to be sacred deeds for you to carry out.
