Civil Rights????Reader comment on item: [Abdurahman Alamoudi: A] Slick Islamist Heads to Jail Submitted by Laurie Kurs (United States), Aug 3, 2004 at 19:27 I would be the first to make a law outlawing Moslems from having any role in our government. But, loving democracy as I do, how do we "protect" ourselves from potential terrorists, insiders spilliling info or slithering around gathering funds for the cause on one hand and not take away rights from legimate citizens who are Moslems? I follow that with the concern that we couldn't tell who is "legit" and therefore ALL would be prohibited from any and all governmental agencies. But how could the American consitution support such a law???I want to be fair, but I want to be safe. I want democracy, but I want to feel safe. I am against political cprrectness, but I want to be safe.....What can we do????? Laurie
