SimilaritiesReader comment on item: Debating Campus Watch Submitted by Adaran Kazlov (Czech Republic), Aug 24, 2004 at 19:06 I am from eastern Europe and see a similiar trend of the plight of east European gypsies and the Palestinians. None of the working people want the gypsies near them as they have contributed to the vast majority of crimes in our country however they are living here with us and we must deal with them in a logical and amicable way. What to do? We must educate and try to become more tolerant in my opinion. It is a vicious cycle of hate in the middle east and the only way to break this cycle is through education of our children not to hate and to be more tolerant. In addition we must also take the steps within ourselves to try to become more tolerant of the failings of others that share our land. I can say that there have been positive results in the last 15 years since the communist regime fell in my country. Gypsies are becoming more and more a contribution to society instead of a detriment.I would say to the people living in Israel to try and not be biased or look down upon your fellow men and women EVEN if they are not behaving in a sociable way. I understand that there are danger for you from violent acts but there would be no excuse for them if they were treated with respect (to clarify, I am not saying that it is excuseable to do this violent acts only that it is what they would say the reason for their actions) Please excuse my english it is my fourth language from my mother tongue.
