American Tribal WarfareReader comment on item: T. E. Lawrence, American Tactician Submitted by Arlinda (United States), Jan 31, 2010 at 14:57 Our military did, indeed, use scouts in its Indian wars, the Revolutionary Wars, and in its war with Mexico. We used Pawnee and Blackfoot against the Lakota (Sioux), The Iroquois against the Huron during the Revolution and the Apaches against Pancho Villa. However, as documented by other generals, Scouts were never wholly trusted by their commanders. The difference between the tribalism here and in the Middle East is the religious fanaticism and misogyny of the tribes. It's the belief system that bind the lunacy in the Middle East that makes them hate the West. That did not happen here. General Patreous is a genius and, perhaps, one of the most educated generals we have ever had in our military. If he finds it credible to apply Lawrence to our current efforts, he must be right. Our Commander-in-Chief is no a genius and seems not to have any strategy in our war in the Middle East. And, let us not forget Moishe Dayan who beat the pants off of six Arab nations without using T.E. Lawrence. I wonder why we do not confer with the Israelies who ought to know a thing or two about fighting the Islamofascist tribes of the desert?
