End of Iraq at the hands of the Kurds, as seen by JeremiahReader comment on item: Iraq's Cosmetic Election Submitted by Jeff Ahrendt (United States), Mar 31, 2010 at 13:22 The doom on Babylon is described by prophet Jeremiah: "Babylon has been captured,... for a nation has come up against her out of the north; it will make her land an object of horror... And they will draw up their battle lines against her; from there she will be taken captive... And Chaldea will become plunder..." Who captures and plunders Chaldea? Jeremiah identifies the invader: "Summon against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni and Ashkenaz (or Urartu, Mannea and Adiabene),... the kings of the Medes... So Jeremiah wrote... all the calamity which would come upon Babylon... It will be a perpetual desolation," (chapters 50-51 of the book of Jeremiah in the hebrew bible). Who are the Medes today? The Kurds. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
