Evil has no Geographical LimitsReader comment on item: In Europe, Remorse Has Turned to Masochism Submitted by Babakan (United States), Apr 27, 2010 at 21:12 Comparing "Eastern" and "Southern" evils to "Western" ones reveals not so surprising similarities. Europeans, in their historical self examination and self criticism have mistakenly come to think that the "East" was therefore (non sequitur !) pure and innocent. Westerners should study Eastern history as well as their own. They should also disregard the artificial time frames that places blame only based upon "recent" history, adjusted purposely for blaming Europe and absolving the rest. Many nations and communities who have not "recently" committed major atrocities but who still venerate their past histories and shameful behaviors, have simply lacked the means to do that. The Arab invasion of the Middle East and Persia was one of the greatest and cruelest invasions and colonializations in History which still persists in many ways. The atrocities of Turkish kings of Persia like Mahmoud the Ghazanavid (AKA the Great Holy warrior- of Islam) in India were extremely rare in History, just ask Hindu historians. The Mongol invasion and genocide in China and Persia was so similar to Hitler's Holocaust- in terms of numbers as well as motives and methods - that it makes one wonder whether the Nazis studied their example in detail. The internal persecutions and Genocides within almost all Eastern and "Southern" regions, up until the present day have been every bit as cruel and evil as they were in Europe, perhaps worse. Ethnic, religious and ideological internal conflicts in the East and the South, all documented and written down, from ancient times to the present are there for everyone to study. There is one big difference: Europeans have learned to study and criticize themselves, while the Easterners and Southerners have not yet begun. Today, West bashing is an easy way for their enemies to demoralize the West as well as silencing Eastern and Southern populations. Today every tyrant in the east and South points to the West, telling their own victims that if the west has such a track record, then we have every right to do as we wish. Evil and human nature have no geographical boundaries and limits but self denigration in so far limited to the West !
