I could not disagree with you more on your assessment of certain Muslims, that is, those seen as "moderate," according to Western standards.

They might actually be moderate in thought or even with intention, and would love to be able to speak out against Islam and extremists, but they daren't, and if pressured to make up their minds, they would quickly assert their allegiance to Islam. They daren't do otherwise, because they risk their necks.

"Muslims who say" what you allege do NOT exist! Islam and women's rights? That is the height of incongruity and the two concepts are totally incompatible with Shari'a Law.

At least the extremists advertise their wares by shouting their heads off and making violent threats, so we know who they are and can take certain measures, but the moderates are the ones to be careful about.

They lurk in the shadows, play cat-and-mouse games, and appear just like your kindly neighbor from next door. They employ the Islamic device of taqqiya -- lying is permitted according to the Koran if used to advance the cause of allah and the faith, and , of course, in their eyes, that means anything you care to say.

The assertions you make with the tag phrase "they are not the enemy" are nothing less than sheer naivete, and it is this kind of thinking that is pushing the U.S. toward the same Islamic quagmire that Europe is in today.
