A fascinating read

I have found this book by complete chance or more accurately by fate. The narrative is accurate and the language is eloquent. Once started, I could not stop reading. Although I am from the Middle East, but I felt the strong attachment to my co-religionists African Muslims who were enslaved by the tyrants of the "renaissance". If you are looking to expand your knowledge in history, or dive into such a unique experience of human drama, or want to learn the authentic morals of courage, dedication, intellectualism, and braveness, this book is an excellent choice.

From my knowledge in Islamic teachings, some of the practices that historians, including the author of this book, perceived as being Islamic are actually not. Examples are voodoo and gris-gris. However, this is quite minor in this book and does not affect this marvelous piece of literature as a whole.
