Paul,

If you want to know why our leaders haven't woken up then just take a quick look at who is up there. We have gone from a Billy Bunting former unsuccessful foreign affairs oriented PM who harped on about multilateralism as though there really was anything like an "international community". Now he has been ousted by an industrial lawyer who has a similar one world view and only regards domestic- "taxing Billy to subsidize Bob to regulate Angela" issues as core national challenges. The only big thing she wants to take on is "climate change" and she wont do anything there.

Our leaders are small-minded people who are in the business of winning elections not in the business of fighting off the predations of a oil wealth driven set of fecund and determined ideological extremists. They will placate the muslims and blame their own population's intolerance for Islamic transgressions until Rome falls a second time and then it will be too late.

If anyone is going to act on this issue it has to be the citizenry.
