Christians do advocate killing unbelieversReader comment on item: The United States Government, Still the Patron of Islam Submitted by Joe (United States), Aug 20, 2010 at 19:54 Well, perhaps the massive wars, i.e. the Peasants War, the horrifying 30 Years War, fought during and after the Reformation in which thousands upon thousands of Christians killed each other because they had left Catholicism, or Lutheranism, or were no longer Anabaptists, should clear that up. Christians throughout history have horribly slaughtered each other for heresies, or leaving one part of Christianity for another. In antiquity, there were terrible struggles with the Donatists in North Africa who believed in expelling and attacking people who had converted from Christianity because of persecution. Even in colonial Connecticut, a Quaker could expect to have his hand branded and his literature burned. It has only been with the loss of temporal and political, Christian power in government which has put a stop to these horrible persecutions of those who leave Christianity. And if you are looking for contemporary examples, pastors and preachers in Nigeria slaughter children they accuse of witchcraft and advocate killing homosexuals. http://www.africafiles.org/article.asp?ID=24051&ThisURL=./youthchildren.asp&URLName=Youth%20&%20Children And, btw, are you telling me you don't know about the ready indulgences for those who fought in crusades? Or the Old Testament's injunction to slaughter all Canaanites, esp, the Amalekites, killing women, children, and even animals. It seems that Christian history is full of injunctions and wars based on killing unbelievers, and even the scripture supports it very clearly, as Christians used it to justify killing other Christians. Be glad you live in a time when Christianity has been so weakened, so ennervated that it no longer has the will, the power, or the conviction of belief to punish unbelievers.
