Reciprocity of SpeechReader comment on item: Late Breaking Rushdie-Rule Developments Submitted by Alan Harmless (United Kingdom), Oct 3, 2010 at 15:10 Why when the US is selling warplanes to Saudi Arabia, are we not insisting the Saudis prosecute hate speech toward non-Muslims. These vitriolic hate speeches made against all non-Muslims, not only Christians or Jews are bubbling up into the public space - credit to Youtube for raising our awareness,. We must ensure economic interests worldwide subscribe to a common charter of freedoms so we may bear down on the hate-mongers without losing out economically. Until this happens, the Saudis are enriched militarily and the price paid by thousands of non-Muslims and Christians yet remaining in the Middle East and Asia, persecuted, murdered and imprisoned. Is this not genuine leverage within our hands to mould the world and make it peaceable ? If we are to strengthen the sovereignty of the Saudis through manufacturing their warplanes should we not get in return more than jobs for domestic industry. This absence of restraint by the Saudis reflects that they have made the Qur'an their constitution, and the hate speech reflects the Qur'an. Leaders internationally must confront that hatred and suppress both its origins and its manifestation through a coalition against hatred.
