The Muslim masora and ignorance is blissReader comment on item: Late Breaking Rushdie-Rule Developments Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Nov 13, 2010 at 12:36 Our dear Taj wrote >lexi newbie ROTFL is this the name of one of Abul Qasim's wives and concubines? >just a quick note to address your neophyte approach to arabic. You are the last one to lecture us about Arabic >Your use of Hans Wehr for the Quran demonstrates how much of a rookie you are. Really? Here is your lesson in Arabic for today The Muslim masora is an activity by the ulama and it took place in the third century of Islam where Quranic words were defined and such words became stable until now so a makkar of 1400 years ago (oh makkar? Oh this is what Allah describes himself and it means he who decieves!) so a makkar of 1400 years ago is also a makkar now and iqra' of 1400 years ago is also iqra' now Just go and ask one of your Arab masters what does the word iqra' mean? and let us see what they say ... >Wehr's work is of modern arabic and his sources are modern works from which he built his lexicon. there are three types of Arabic words that are inculded in a dictionary of modern Arabic 1. Quranic Arabic words like Iqra' and iqra' means read back then and now and makkar means he who decives back then and now and there are perfect modern Arabic words thanks to the Muslim masora 2. Middle Arabic and this is what ibn Manzur's Qamoos ( written 600 years after the death of your so called prophet) is all about and an example here would be al-shabakiyya and it means the retina of the eye and it is a perfect Arabic word now but Muhammad and his generation would have no clue about what this word would mean For the readers: the likes of Hunein Ibn Ishaq who was a Nestorian Christian translated the Greek learning from Greek to Syriac and then to Arabic in Dar al-Hikma in Baghdad in the 9th century CE and what he did he Arabized Greek words that did not exist in Arabic and expanded the vocabulary of the Arabic language and Muhammad and his generation would have no clue about the meaning of any of these words added by Ibn Ishaq including: safra or jaundice, balgham or sputum etc... What a fadiha Allah's vocabulary was limited 3. Modern Arabic where we have the likes of words like dimoqratiyya (democarcy), al-komidiyya or the comody, al-shiyu3iyya or communism but you will also find in modern Arabic dictionaries Quranic Arabic, Middle Arabic as well as el-telivision! How come you did not know that? >No one but someone with elementary understanding of language would use a modern lexicon to examine ancient work...hahahaha Ignorant and careless reader; Go back and read my post! I wrote that you can check the word iqra' in Lisan al-3Arab but like a jahil you had no clue what is really Lisan al-3Arab! What a fake >You don't know what you are talking about - and you demonstrate that at every turn... Then prove me wrong mr ignorant OK I will give you a chance where is your evidence that can prove me wrong and the following will be accepted as evidence 1. Hans Wehr Dictionary and let me guess you will not be able to read it 2. Lisan al-3Arab The following will not be accepted as evidence 1. I Taj the wannabe Arab and ignorant Fiqi say so 2. My Stupid Mullah says so 3. Zakir Naik the moron says so 4. paksitani web sites and wikipedia articles written by wannabe Arab Now it is your chance to make a fool of yourself again Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
