None Dare Call It Treason-25 years LaterReader comment on item: None Dare Call It Treason... 25 Years Later Submitted by Joe Honick (United States), May 4, 2011 at 18:06 The tone of your response suggests the very best of intentions, and I respect that. I am a businessman who works internantionally and believe that Stoimer was a prejudiced author whose leanings were hardly supportable. Had he balanced his comments more, I probably would not say much. However, almost all pages of his book are rife with suggestions if not accusations that there is something communist about being liberal which might suggest there is something fascist about being conservative, neither of which of course is true. If comments like yours were to be advanced in MBA classes I have the pleasure of lecturing to from time to time, I would have to counter it. And as to the wealthy b eing more charitable, it would seem neither of you take into account that many with wealth did not earn that wealth and live off the gains of others and are not all that altruistic at all. In fact a little more study would demonstrate that the demographics of "givers" are filled with those who are hardly wealthy. Finally, I wonder if he were still kicking around today how he would react to the fact that only one corporations rejected bailouts and hardly any rejected a dollar of the stimuili. I personally have never had any of either as a businessman, but we did give $160 billion to a very happy AIG corpooration with no noise from the right. In other words, just because people have money does not mean they are good or bad and certainly not the wielders of what is good for the country.
