Israel is Eternal Because Her Almighty Sovereign is EternalReader comment on item: Remarkable Israel Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jun 14, 2011 at 11:25 In imagining how the world may have been better off by taking the context of the remarks by Dr. Pipes to heart, in that Israel being so remarkable and having brought to this existence the blessing and benefits so accorded, it is a wonder then that so many are in such a state of enmity and envy, that the antagonism and antipathy directed towards Israel in such a palpable way is in many ways astonishing. But those of us who look at Israel as the litmus test of how to co-exist in such an hostile environment find that the astonishment is going to be short lived; that those who have lived in the antipathies directed against the Jewish state are now facing the Biblical imperative: mess with the apple of the Almighty Sovereign's eye, then find out that the Biblical consequences are not a figment of the human imagination and apocalyptic moviemaking, that the reality is presently upon all who take Israel's place in the world so lightly. One of the better examples is presently about to break upon the scene, as if the lessons that should have been learned the first time were not enough. The flotilla two (Mavi Marmara) is being planned and prepared for launch, not as the humanitarian effort so deceptively proffered, but as the provocation the world seems to think is necessary to place Israel in a bad light in order to take advantage of her, provoking already bad feelings of the antagonism of the flotilla attempt into a greater frenzy of hatred towards Israel. Really folks, is that the real way to solve the crisis there? But, a lesson not learned the first time is doomed to repeat itself until the lesson is finally learned. Another of this posts readers has grudgingly lavished significant praise upon Israel for its apparent resources available to 'repel all boarders,' to protect the sovereignty of its borders, evidently naively unaware of why it is so. Is there yet the naivety of how Israel is able to find itself back in its ancient place of nationhood, and still defy the human reasoning of its continued existence in spite of every effort to diminish and displace her? Evidently so, for there is little to suggest that any of Israel's enemies are going to cease their activity as long as there is the breath of hatred against Israel. Israel is going to find herself in the breach once again; and there is a sense that every resource necessary to insure Israel's continuance in her homeland will be placed on the line, on the altar of sacrifice as it were, just as it is written. Those of us who hold to the Divine Providence of Israel's place in this world have every reason of faith to understand that what Israel faces is as it was written in Moses' Song; and the completion of the remaining prophecies are in focused perspective now. Then the most remarkable aspect of Israel's modern day presence is not its accomplishments as Dr. Pipes has demonstrated, but in the final accomplishment of the WORD of the LORD in bringing about the final chapter of Israel's promise as given to Abraham. After all, the LORD's visit to Abraham's tent told us more than about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, it was about bringing honor to the Almighty Eternal Sovereign and His power to judge a world that did not have the faith of Abraham as He protects his heritage.
