Further...Reader comment on item: Restrictions on Palestinians in Lebanon Submitted by Vijay (Germany), Jun 19, 2011 at 18:37 World War2 and it's aftermath created millions of displaced persons , shifting of borders of many countries and disappearance of some. Creation of Isreal and the settling of Jews in isreal are a last chapter in this post-war movement of persons and border changes. After that the millions of displaced persons have been absorbed in the body politic of different countries. About half a million Arabs who moved out of Israel in 1948-49 are a minor movement compared to others. They could have been quitely absorbed in many different Arab countries without a wimper. It is outrageous that 'Palestinian Refugee problem ' is still bandied about. This is due to unrealistic hopes of fed to Palestinians about their own state and meanwhile the UN / International community doling of millions of dollars to keep the problem live. The 'palestinian problem is a misnomer for giving flase hopes to palestinians and spending billions of dollars to keep this false hope alive.
