Time to pick a side

Henri,

You need to understand the Left's view on Islam. Firstly, the Left views the Islamic threat, and ANYTHING having to do with Islamic/Arab culture, through the lens of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. The left defines this conflict through VERY strict Marxist Liberation Theology terms. The Israeli's are OPPRESSORS, and Palestinians are OPPRESSED. The Palestinians are Muslim; ergo, ALL Muslims are oppressed peoples. Israel is a satellite of Western imperialism; therefore, ALL of western culture is imperialist.

The Left's view of the struggle with Islam is thus: 'THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY IS MY FRIEND. Western culture is the ENEMY; Islam stands against western culture; therefore, Islam is my friend.'

The Left's coddles and suppors contemporary Islam because the left HATES its own culture. It is really that simple. The left will side with ANYTHING that purports to destroy western capitalist culture. Doesn't matter who it is.

You sound like a sane person. Come on over to our side.
